A Kenneth Cole Look for Oculto Manor

We are officially back in action. Our apologies for the monthlong hiatus, Mannequins, but our day jobs in April were pretty consuming since it was the peak of season in Miami. We missed the hell of out of you darlings, but we’re so glad to be blogging again – so let’s get right to it.

The party gods delivered an interesting invitation to our inbox in late April. Oculto, a new beer blended with tequila from Anheuser-Busch, was launching in the local market at Wynwood’s Soho Studios with a mysterious two-weekend long event called “Oculto Manor.” We didn’t know what to expect, but knew that it had to be fun since the beer’s Facebook page kept taunting us with a series of mischievous visuals and masquerade masks (very Eyes Wide Shut or Sleep No More in NYC kinda vibes).

Who doesn’t love a good themed party? And with the whole “manor” and “masquerade” situation, you know we had to bring it. I chose a modern evening look to take it up a notch in the ensemble department. I’m really into blue hues lately when it comes to jackets and suits. I wanted my new blue, Kenneth Cole textured jacket to be the statement piece so I paired it with a black color palette to make it pop and added a few bold accessories to keep it fun. Let’s play dress up!

So what about the party? Upon arrival, we were immediately handed an Oculto beer, white masks and told we had to choose a path hidden behind three doors with clocks – one read 8 p.m., another midnight and the last 4 a.m. Being the party monsters that we are, we chose 4 a.m. of course (go hard or go home, basics). We opened the door and BOOM! we were thrown into a makeshift limo with a wasted wedding party and a hysterical bride. We played along, consoled the poor soul drenched in cheap mascara and toasted to her newfound single life. What happened after this seemed to go in fast-forward.

One minute we were in a steamy bathhouse plunging in a hot tub, the next, we were in a raging house party jumping on beds. After that, we crashed a wedding ceremony, a pool party and a NSFW office party with pretty secretaries dancing on desks. My favorite was the burlesque room. I became BFFs with three dancers while freshening up at the vanity dressing room area and the next thing I knew…we were all high-kicking on stage loving life. The party culminated in a large space filled with trees, multiple bars and a kick-ass DJ. We danced all night and were never without an Oculto in hand. Shout out to Stacey Russell for being the perfect partner in crime, and thank god for the multiple photo stations and Joseph for capturing our fun!

Kudos to Oculto for an amazing event. We haven’t been to a party this good in a while!
