Underground Lauderdale Fashion Weekend

Earlier this month,  we attended the inaugural Underground Lauderdale Fashion Weekend (#ULFW) presented by Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Colonnade Outlets at Sawgrass Mills – 3 days of fashion shows, designer showcases and parties at the cool F.A.T. Village in the Flagler Arts & Technology Arts District (think Wynwood vibes in Ft. Lauderdale).

The event featured a Nicole Miller 2017 Runway Show hosted by “Project Runway” judge Nina Garcia which was beautiful, and other shows by SAUNDER, Descendant of Thieves, and Alice & Trixie to name a few. But what really peaked our interest was Susanne Bartsch‘s “Art-A-Porter” showcase with live model vignettes. As you know, we are big fans of Bartsch and really admire the way she uses her creativity to fuse nightlife, art and fashion into moments of complete fierceness.

For “Art-A-Porter”, Bartsch featured Casey Caldwell, Hana Quist, Devin Kelly, Fetish FactoryGraham Tyler, Claire FleurySAGA NYCMuffinhead and Miami’s own Krelwear – see pics below and World Red Eye’s gallery here. She also hosted a Finale Extravaganza Celebration with NYC and local artists, performers, club kids and drag queens. DJ Amber Valentine kept us dancing all night long!

Another highlight of #ULFW was the Fashion Marketplace. This section allowed guests to buy pieces right off the shows and also featured an amazing photo booth and prize wheel provided by The Colonnade Outlets at Sawgrass Mills. Lucky guests signed up to win designer handbags from Carolina Herrera, YSL and Gucci. Unfortunately, I did not score a fabulous bag, but I did win a major gift card thanks to the Sawgrass Prize Wheel. The mall’s colonnade features 60+ designer brands which include Versace, Burberry, Neiman Marcus Last Call and more. We cannot wait to get our shopping on!
